How to Adopt a Dog or Cat from LAWS
The majority of our adoptable animals are onsite at the Luling City Shelter, however some may be in foster. You can always drop in for a visit to see who all we have available, but if you are interested in a specific animal or type of animal, feel free to call us at 512-749-5643, email us at [email protected], or message our facebook page for more information. We do encourage meet and greets when adopting a dog into a home that already has a dog(s) but ask that you call ahead to arrange a time.
Terms and Conditions for Adoption
LAWS seeks to place dogs and cats only in suitable, safe and loving homes. Owner agrees to:

- Have the animal examined annually by a veterinarian
- Comply with city ordinances and federal laws related to animals
- Not allow the dog to be chained or tied outdoors at any time without supervision
- Keep the animal contained in a safe and humane manner
Adopters must sign an Adoption Contract

All dogs and cats will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and dogs will be heartworm tested. These vet fees are paid by LAWS. If an animal is too young for spay/neuter, arrangements will be made to provide that service once old enough. To fully vet an animal (without any additional medical needs) costs LAWS approximately $200-300 per dog and $100-150 per cat, so adoption fees are a true bargain!
